How to merge PDF files for free
Combine two or more PDFs into a single document — in any order — without uploading your files anywhere.
Merging PDFs is one of the most common document tasks: joining a signed contract with its appendix, combining scanned pages into one file, or stitching together chapters of a report. The catch with most free online tools is that they upload your documents to a server to do it. If those documents are private — contracts, tax forms, medical paperwork — that's a real concern. Toolsfully merges your PDFs directly in your browser, so the files never leave your device.
Step-by-step
- Open the Merge tool. Go to the PDF Tools section and make sure the "Merge PDF" tab is selected.
- Add your files. Drag your PDF files onto the drop area, or click it to browse and select them. You can add as many as you need.
- Put them in order. Each file appears in a list. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to arrange them into the exact order you want in the final document, or remove one with ✕.
- Merge and download. Click "Merge & download." Toolsfully combines the files locally and your browser saves the finished merged.pdf to your device.
Tips
- Order matters. The final PDF follows the top-to-bottom order of the list, so arrange files before merging.
- Password-protected files. If a PDF is encrypted, remove the password first — a locked file can't be merged.
- Large files are fine. Because there's no upload, you're not limited by an arbitrary file-size cap.
